German motor oil company Liqui Moly has bucked coronavirus trends and is set to welcome its 101st new hire for the year on December 1.
The German company, which currently has an annual revenue of €544 million and ships to over 150 countries is determined not to let the ongoing pandemic affect it negatively.
Ernst Prost, Managing Director of Liqui Moly, said: “As an exporter to 150 countries, we are also suffering from the global pandemic. But this is no reason to give up.
“We are taking advantage of this crisis and are pulling together with full force. The crisis is too huge to allow it to pass unused."
The company are hoping to battle the negative effects coronavirus has had on supply chains and production by launching big press campaigns to increase their reach, including doubling its marketing budget.
It has attracted significant international attention owing to their countercyclical approach to the pandemic.

Mr Prost said: “In order to master all this, we need a strong team. That’s why we are pleased to hire new employees. You have to consider that, despite the crisis, we are still seeing an increase in sales, even though there has been a massive decline in global oil and fuel consumption. That’s an incredible achievement."
The new hires, of which the most recent were for a business development executive and a technical sales executive, bring the medium-sized company's total workforce just shy of 1000 employees.
José Cruz and Borja Sanchez-Laulhé represent the 100th and 101st hires throughout the pandemic and are set to work for Liqui Moly's Iberian firm which covers Spain and Portugal.
Matthias Bleicher, General Director of Liqui Moly Iberia, said: “I am sure that, with both employees, we have been able to attract excellent people whose experience and commitment are a perfect fit for us. Together, we will do our best for the entire company and our customers.”

Mr Prost concluded: “We owe it to every single employee and every single partner to continue to do our utmost and not rest on the successes of recent years. Since March, we have been fighting around the clock to maintain and expand jobs. So many individual livelihoods depend on this.
“We are now delighted with the reinforcement and wish [our new employees] a good start, plenty of job satisfaction, strength and endurance – as we do all new employees this year. Welcome to the Liqui Moly family worldwide."
