However, Fanuc is now making a major commitment to proactively grow its footprint in Ireland by appointing two new Sales Managers, Conor O’Kelly and Ronan Rasdale, as its first on-the-ground employees in Ireland.
He joins Fanuc with 15 years of experience in industrial automation, serving a host of multi-national manufacturers based in Ireland with systems integration firm Crest Solutions / CXV Global.
He commented: " “Having global leaders of the quality of Fanuc on the ground in Ireland supporting manufacturing operations is key to the next stage in Ireland’s industrial growth, which will be predominantly driven by automation.”
Mr. Rasdale joins from specialist robotics distributors Reliance Automation, having previously worked for a provider of enterprise automation and 3D vision systems.
“Fanuc is unique in its ability to provide every element of an industrial automation system, powered by the world’s broadest range of industrial and collaborative robots. No automation provider is better placed than FANUC to aid competitiveness and help overcome the barriers brought about by COVID-19," he acknowledged.
The company is pursuing ambitious plans in Europe, where the company is steadily expanding its sales and service network. In the past four years alone, it has invested more than €120 million in new facilities across Europe. Further underpinning its growth plans, the company will invest another €100 million in the coming three years and the expansion continues apace.
Following the opening of modern new office buildings in the Czech Republic and Belgium in recent months, and with work on new facilities in Austria, Slovakia, Spain and France progressing as planned, the ground has now been broken for a further building on the site of Fanuc's German subsidiary in Neuhausen, south of Stuttgart. The technical centre will be the fourth building at the site.
Shinichi Tanzawa, President & CEO of FANUC Europe Corporation, said: " “We are confident that the trend towards robotisation will grow further and that FANUC robots will help customers to automate their manufacturing plants and save cost like FANUC does at its own factories. We will do everything necessary to support our customers in these endeavours.”

At present, Fanuc produces around 8,000 industrial robots every month at its factories in Japan, although monthly capacity is available up to 11,000 units.
The company is renowned for its highly automated production facilities, where thousands of robots demonstrate reliability, dexterity and speed in the build of its products that include robots, controllers and machine tools.
