3E Rapid Prototyping (3ERP), one of the leading Chinese companies in its sector, translates design and invention blueprints into manufactured prototypes in as little as 3 days. Speed, top quality and flexibility is what has made the company a sought-after partner to leading manufacturers across a range of industries worldwide.

3ERP is an ISO9001-2015 certified manufacturer, built on the philosophy of 3Es - Excellent, Efficient and Economic. The company is committed to providing top-quality rapid prototyping and low volume manufacturing service, including CNC machining, vacuum casting, pressure die casting, 3D printing, rapid tooling & injection moulding, sheet metal prototyping, plastic and aluminium extrusion.
“We provide high-quality manufacturing solutions that can have your design finished in a matter of hours. This gives our customers the opportunity to rigorously test their product to and make all the required changes to fine tune the design before it goes into full-scale production,” commented Mr Ronan Ye, the company’s CEO.
“Our core business is simple - to provide solutions for manufacturing and top-quality control in order to make sure each project runs smoothly. Customers require increased precision and quality, and we can satisfy that requirement in a timely and cost-effective manner.”
3ERP targets primarily the automotive, aerospace, medical and electronic products sectors where precision CNC machining, urethane casting, rapid tooling and sheet metal fabrication are highly valued. These are the company’s core capabilities, differentiating it from competitors.
“We have extensive experience across a range of sectors,” said Mr Ye. “For example, we are proud and honoured to provide comprehensive rapid manufacturing solutions for some of the world’s leading automotive companies, such as BMW, Bentley Motors, Lamborghini, and Land Rover. We consistently produce high fidelity physical prototypes that will pass the most rigorous verification and testing procedures. Similarly, for the last 11 years we have specialised in aerospace prototyping and have gathered the relevant expertise that enables us to handle any project relating to aerospace parts, whether simple or complex.”
Core competence
The company provides a variety of precision CNC machining services including milling, turning, EDM (electrical discharge machining) and wire EDM, and surface grinding. “With our precision 3-, 4- and 5-axis CNC machining centres, combined with other advanced capabilities and our experienced team, we achieve high tolerances and can handle all the technical aspects of creating prototypes and precision parts that our customers require, so that their team can fully focus on bringing the product to market.”
Plastic machining is another of 3ERP’s core capabilities. 3D printing processes such as FDM, SLA and SLS are today considered the most economical way to make plastic prototypes. Sometimes however, certain non-printable materials are needed, and sometimes CNC machining is the only option.
“Our team has rich experience of making plastic concept models and precise functional components. Understanding the properties of different plastics, with lots of testing and experimentation with pre-heating, tool paths and other factors, we are able to minimise deformation on plastics such as PP, PA, PE, POM, etc. 3ERP provides a range of solutions for the machining of plastic parts,” Mr Ye pointed out.
“I have found that companies who can make precision parts are mostly very slow. And the companies who can make parts fast cannot achieve tight tolerances. That’s why we are here. To fill the gap,” he affirmed.
Customer-centric approach
The utmost flexibility and full focus on meeting customers’ needs is an integral part of 3ERP’s philosophy. “When we come across an RFQ, instead of making a quote, we always try to figure out the best solution to offer them. This could not happen if our engineers did not have the manufacturing experience. So, we are able to offer DFM suggestion to our customers.”
“Quality control is another of our strengths and we have strict rules in place. Parts will be blocked by our quality control department if there is any quality issue. I am aware that some companies will even try to convince customers to accept faulty parts. This will never happen here at 3ERP,” Mr Ye insisted.
Given its specific competence, 3ERP is a sought-after partner for big and small companies around the world. The United States and the EU are equally key markets, with the intention of increasing the percentage of exports to Europe, which represents a highly stable territory.
The company is well equipped with all the required machinery but is considering investing in 3D printing in response to current trends. Recent investments included a new material tester, so materials used for prototyping are verified to make sure they fit precisely for each project, and an automotive coordinate measuring machine (CMM) to get measurement results quickly. “We may not grow big in term of facilities, but we will invest in more high-tech machines and make sure we are ahead of our competitors,” concluded Mr Ye.
