Volvo Buses has received an order from Norgesbuss in Oslo for 17 Volvo 7900 Electric buses and will be the fourth Norwegian city to purchase fully electric buses from a factory in Wroclaw.
Norgesbuss, a public transport company from Oslo, intends to use the buses from the Romerike area north of Oslo. Already, Wroclaw electric buses have been bought by three other Norwegian cities: Trondheim, Drammen and Lillehammer.
Designed by Polish engineers, the technology advanced Volvo 7900 Electric buses, will start operating in the district in summer 2019. After delivering vehicles, the manufacturer will take care of their servicing on the basis of fixed monthly fees. The initial order will be delivered in the first quarter of 2019 to prepare them for the requirements of the new standard on IT systems of on-board equipment in buses and office back-office systems - ITxPT (IT technologies for public transport).

The capacity of bus batteries is 200 kWh. They are to be charged in depots via CCS cables. Electricity consumption of Volvo buses is about 80 percent. smaller than their counterparts powered by diesel engines.
Volvo electric buses have been ordered by operators in countries such as Sweden, UK, Luxembourg and Poland. In addition to the fully electric bus of the Volvo 7900 Electric, the range of electrified buses from Volvo Buses includes hybrid buses and hybrid electric buses (with charging via a plug). The company has already sold over 4,000 electrified buses around the world.
