Veidekke has been contracted to build 322 flats for Selvaag Bolig and Ferd Eiendom at Ensjø in Oslo. The project will consist of a design and build contract valued at approximately NOK 550 million, excluding VAT.
"We feel completely at home at Ensjø, as we have been building residential units there continuously for over 10 years. We are grateful to Selvaag and Ferd for their continued confidence in us, and are very proud to be able to build on our successful collaboration on the Tiedemann factory project. This continuity lays the best possible foundation for the success of the project, and will benefit both the developers and future home buyers," says Veidekke Executive Vice President, Building Construction Norway, Hans Olav Sørlie.
The new project has a quiet location at the end of a cul-de-sac, and is surrounded by parkland, small houses and new developments. The Ensjø and Hasle metro stations are situated just a short distance away. Veidekke is well underway with the neighbouring Tiedemann factory project, in which the first of 380 new flats are currently being delivered.

"This project is sited on one of Ensjø's best plots, and we are looking forward to starting work. Our project team has many years' experience of building residential units at Ensjø, and plans to carry out much of the concreting, masonry and timber framing work in-house. Demolition is scheduled for the autumn, and we hope to start construction in the first half of 2019," says Anders W. Haugen, head of Veidekke's construction operation in Oslo.
Start-up is conditional on the achievement of sufficient advance sales.
