Leading Nordic paint company Tikkurila has introduced a new durable coating system to protect metals in the most extreme environments.
Temanyl GF is designed for immersion environments that require superior resistance to chemical stress and high temperatures. The two-component glass flake reinforced vinyl ester coating is suitable for service in many chemical environments within the full pH range due to its excellent resistance to demineralised water and many solvents.
Temanyl GF is used for internal lining for offshore, onshore and buried tanks and pipes subject to extreme chemical exposure and mechanical wear. It is especially developed for long-term, economical protection of storage tanks. Only 1–2 coats of Temanyl GF are required to achieve the same durability that multi-layer systems offer. These properties result in cost-savings throughout the entire lifetime of the coated surface. The new coating is also fast-curing: surfaces coated with Temanyl GF can be taken into use 72 hours after application.

Superior chemical resistance and excellent protection against corrosion and mechanical wear result in minimised downtime, reduced maintenance costs and a longer service life.
"Many industries use stronger chemicals than before. The interiors of chemical tanks, processing vessels and other expensive equipment in immersion service need to be sufficiently protected. In many cases traditional epoxy coating systems cannot provide enough protection against aggressive chemicals or solvents. Therefore, we are proud to introduce a new durable solution to our customers," says Žydrūnas Čepkauskas, Group Portfolio Development Manager for Metal Industry of Tikkurila Group.
