Swedish polymer technology engineering group Trelleborg, through its Trelleborg Wheel Systems subsidiary, has announced that it has signed the agreements and finalised the acquisitions of Italian firms Provana Solutions and Provana Quality Centre.
Provana Solutions is a specialist in the distribution and servicing of tyres and wheels to tractor dealers and farmers in Italy. Provana Quality Centre provides testing of tyres to original equipment manufacturers of agricultural machinery. The acquisitions will enable the development of the business area’s service concept for agricultural tires in Europe.
Both companies are owned by Provana family members and are based in Izano, northern Italy. In 2018, the companies' sales totalled around €5.5-million. The acquisitions form part of Trelleborg's strategy to strengthen its overall position in attractive market segments.
“It is with confidence we welcome the operations to Trelleborg. Provana is recognized as possessing technological know-how in tires and complete wheels. Using the foundation provided by the company, we can extend the concept for tire services in the aftermarket for agricultural tires in Europe. The transaction strengthens us at the end stage of the value chain. We have extensive experience of service and distribution of industrial tires through the Interfit concept, but we now also have an opportunity to broaden our service offering in the aftermarket in agricultural tires,” says Paolo Pompei, President of the Trelleborg Wheel Systems business area.
