The Czech company ZAT, a producer of control systems for power engineering and industry, has enhanced its competences in the field of information technologies with the acquisition of a subsidiary company, Definity Systems.
“Through this we are reacting to the development of the market towards Industry 4.0 and to our customers’ requirements. We expect to increase our competitiveness and opportunities to win contracts in new branches,“ says Ivo Tichý, member of the ZAT Board of Directors.
Definity Systems has been active in the field of information technology for 20 years. It focuses on custom software development as well as on the creation of independent extensions of corporate systems, from which its clients obtain additional information as well as functions for company analysis, development and management. It also develops applications in the field of IoT technologies.

“These are the competences we were looking for in our search for a suitable partner. One of ZAT’s strategic goals is to develop and enhance software services related to data processing and presenting on modern platforms. And the Definity Systems competences meet our requirements,“ adds Vladislava Česáková, another member of the ZAT Board of Directors.
“In the first half of this year we will focus on the incorporation of a part of the Definity Systems development team in the ZAT IoT technology department. This is mainly focused on the development of technical devices and superstructural work using the SandRA Synergy system or a new platform, SimONet. Current projects Definity Systems is involved in with major clients will continue without any changes and will remain a part of the company. The teams will keep working on them on a long-term basis,“ adds Ivo Tichý.
Through the acquisition, ZAT gains around 30 new employees, mostly programmers, to reach a total of around 350 employees.
