TKD Kabel has been awarded the TOP 100 Seal for 2026. Max Herrmann, Head of Business Development (right), and Kristina Braunen, Specialist in Marketing Communications, accepted the award from mentor Christian Wulff.
Each year, a team led by renowned innovation researcher Prof. Dr. Nikolaus Franke evaluates 100 criteria to determine which medium-sized companies stand out for their innovative strength and success. A total of 282 companies are authorized to display the TOP 100 seal in 2026, which is awarded by the agency compamedia. One of them is TKD Kabel. This is the first time the cable specialist has participated in the competition.
Digitalization at the Heart of the Innovation Strategy
“For us, innovation is a central component of our corporate strategy,” says Dr. Matthias Kirchherr, Managing Director of TKD Kabel. “Our goal is to offer customers real added value and to help shape technological developments.” A key component of TKD’s innovation strategy is digitalization. Two years ago, the company launched the “Digital Sales, Marketing & Pricing” team for this purpose. The goal was to approach digitalization strategically rather than on a case-by-case basis. To achieve this, TKD Kabel utilizes structured lead management, intelligent sales controlling, and targeted automation of sales processes. The focus is on developing the customer portal, which is regularly expanded to include customer-oriented features such as an alternative product finder or product search by OEM number.
As part of the Industrial Cable Connectivity Business Unit, TKD Kabel also has an international network that it leverages for its innovation initiatives. The company combines its local commitment with internationally consolidated purchasing power and coordinated market development. TKD Kabel quickly and effectively scales innovations that exceed local potential through this network.
An Incentive for Further Development
The awards ceremony took place on June 26 in Heidelberg as part of the German SME Summit. Former Federal President Christian Wulff, serving as a mentor for TOP 100, presented the awards there. Max Herrmann, Head of Business Development at TKD Kabel, received the award on behalf of the company. He said, “This serves as an incentive for us to continue playing an active role in shaping the future of connection technology.”
