Nabtesco Precision Europe revamps their world of products and services
For three decades, cycloidal gears formed the core of the portfolio carried by Nabtesco Precision Europe. In recent years, the company’s product range has been expanded consistently and broadened systematically. This strategic development is reflected in the new world of products. In future, the portfolio will rest on three strong pillars – precision gears, mechatronic systems, and specialized lubricants – accounting for requirements in technology that have become increasingly disparate. “Our new world of products and services is our answer to the increasing complexity in automation: It signifies increased technology, greater innovative power and an expanded range of services. In this way, we can support the projects of our customers even more specifically and efficiently,” emphasizes Daniel Obladen, Director Sales & Marketing at Nabtesco Precision Europe GmbH.
Strong and sustainable innovation portfolio
Aside from the established cycloidal gears, the strain wave gears (production site: Ovalo GmbH, Limburg/Lahn) and mechatronic systems represent the company’s main drivers of innovation. One example is the short gear technology, which has allowed for a significant performance leap in the field of strain wave gears: 120 % power density and 140 % service life at identical size. This performance increase opens up new scope for design – for example, by allowing for greater power density, a more compact design, and material savings. This boost is particularly interesting for cobots and humanoid robots. Equally promising prospects are offered by digital strain wave gears. These volume-neutral versions integrate smart sensors and artificial intelligence, tapping further potential in robotics and automation. Another focal point of 2026: mechatronic systems for Condition Monitoring System with Fail-Safe (CMFS) for yaw drive systems of wind turbines along with the CV-EPS, an innovative, modular steer-by-wire platform for autonomous driving.
Systematic expansion of service and after-sales
Nabtesco Precision Europe accompanies the expansion of their product portfolio with an amplification of their service and after-sales division, strengthening their position as an active service player in robotics. Lubricants, seals, and spare parts are systematically incorporated into an extended range of services and provided directly by the manufacturer. The goal is to extend the operating times of robots and systems and to minimize downtime. These efforts constitute a concrete contribution to sustainability on Nabtesco’s part – through more efficient use of resources, longer product life cycles, and higher availability in operation.
The power at your side: Technology competence and service orientation
“In 2026, the situation in the fields of robotics and mechanical engineering remains challenging. Regardless, our performance promise of delivering “The Power at your Side” endures: We pursue a holistic approach to customer support, standing by our customers’ side as a reliable partner,” explains Daniel Obladen and adds: “Setting new standards in terms of precision, dynamics, installation space, durability, and reliability, our gear and drive solutions lay the groundwork for sustained success.” Numerous industries imposing the highest demands on precision and positioning accuracy benefit from the high power density, including handling, automation and robotics, food technology, welding, defence (especially dual-use), and woodworking, as well as electric mobility and mobile transport systems.
