German manufacturer of embedded vision components, IMAGO Technologies, and Prophesee, French manufacturer of neuromorphic vision sensors, have announced their cooperation in the development of intelligent vision systems embedding Prophesee’s Vision Sensor and Algorithms.
The goal is to enable completely new industrial applications with this innovative neuromorphic vision technology. IMAGO will present the first prototype featuring a dual-core ARM Cortex-A15 processor as well as typical machine vision interfaces at Embedded World.

Prophesee released ONBOARD last year, their embedded reference system for project evaluations – the same Linux-based algorithms run on the new VisionCam, powered by Prophesee. “The innovative technology is meant for creative engineers and inventors!”, states IMAGO’s CEO Carsten Strampe.
Philippe Berger, Director of Business Development Industrial Automation, Prophesee, adds: “Our preliminary discussions have already yielded numerous application possibilities in and around machines, like high-speed counting, vibration monitoring, man-machine teaming and kinematic monitoring for predictive maintenance”.
Function samples of the prototype will be available in the beginning of 2019, soon to be followed by pre-series in the first half of 2019 and the series to start in the second half of 2019.
IMAGO Technologies will be present at the Embedded World from 26th – 28th February 2019. The prototype and a demo can be seen at the IMAGO booth 458 in hall 1.
