At Interpack, Endoline Automation is highlighting its 221 fully automatic case erector, a system widely adopted across European manufacturing environments for its ability to deliver consistent, reliable case forming in demanding applications.

Designed to replace manual case forming processes, the 221 is particularly suited to operations handling heavier corrugated cases and higher throughput requirements, where consistency and case integrity are critical to overall line performance.
A key differentiator lies in how the system forms each case. While many case erectors rely on a single arm with a suction gripper to open boxes from one side, the Endoline 221 uses dual opposing vacuum grippers to open both sides of the case simultaneously. This balanced approach ensures a controlled and uniform opening action, which is especially important when working with twin wall BC flute corrugated board.
By applying even force across both panels, the system eliminates common issues associated with heavier cases, including tearing, distortion and inconsistent opening. This not only improves presentation but also helps maintain structural integrity, reducing the risk of downstream disruption.
The machine has also been engineered with enhanced pneumatics to ensure a positive and repeatable opening process, delivering consistent performance across a wide range of case styles and board grades.
“The way a case is opened has a direct impact on the efficiency of the entire line,” explains Endoline Automation’s Export Manager, James Ramsey. “By opening both sides simultaneously, we’re able to remove a lot of the variability that manufacturers often experience with heavier or more rigid cases. While reflecting the depth of engineering behind the system, it makes a significant difference in terms of consistency, presentation and overall reliability.”
Alongside performance, the 221 has been designed with operator usability in mind. A low-level, horizontal hopper allows flat case blanks to be loaded at an ergonomic working height, reducing the strain associated with lifting heavier stacks and improving efficiency on the line.
This configuration also contributes to a more compact footprint, making the system easier to integrate into space-constrained production environments. Capable of erecting up to 16 cases per minute as standard, the 221 provides a dependable solution for manufacturers looking to balance performance with flexibility.
