Italian energy supplier Green Network Energy (GNE-UK) has signed a deal with all the Italian embassy buildings in the UK to provide clean electricity.
GNE-UK, which bills itself as a UK business with an Italian touch, will supply all the embassy and consulate sites with 100% renewable energy under the terms of the contract. The organisations will streamline their energy purchasing by dealing with just one supplier.
The Green Network Group, the parent company of GNE-UK was set up in 2003 and is now the fourth largest electricity supplier in Italy. The UK branch of its business opened in 2016.
GNE-UK supplies over 450,000 residential and small business accounts according to the company's press release.
