Multinational flexible packaging producer Uflex is investing more than €70 million in a new plant in Hungary, its second facility in Europe. The Hungarian government has said it will contribute €8.7 million in funding.

The factory in Rétság will produce a new type of foil from 2020 and create 170 new jobs. At full capacity, Uflex is able to supply European customers 50,000 t/y of film products.
Uflex's other European facility is in Poland, housing an 8.7-metre-wide BOPET film line that runs at 500 m/min and can produce 30,000 t/y of film supplemented by plasma-enhanced high-barrier metalliser that can produce 10,800 t/y of film annually.
