Other features include a table with lights - usually LEDs, and settings to control the brightness of the light. Also, there are usually features for making images easy to spot, like high spot luminance.
Additionally, there are automatic calibration features for calibrating the device. But that's not all. The measuring range, standard of calibration, and device accuracy are also featured on the tool. Not forgetting the protection for the probe head.
How do you use a densitometer for black and white film density measurement?
A few steps are required to measure the density of black and white film using a densitometer. Firstly, ensure power is supplied to the densitometer by plugging its cord to the power source and then turning it on.
Next, press the dimmer button to reduce or increase the table light brightness as required. There are usually different settings levels for the table light indicated close to the dimmer control.
You can also long-press the dimmer button to choose between 100% or 50% table light brightness. Next, engage the probe button by pressing it down until it touches the table. Long-press the null switch to reveal 0:00 before releasing the probe button again.
Next, you'll need to reboot the device before starting the measurement. Subsequently, insert your film between the table and the probe button and press the button down on the film and wait for the density reading. Release as soon as density appears on the display screen.
