Biffa, the UK leader in sustainable waste management, has today completed the acquisition of a leading construction and demolition (C&D) waste operator in Hampshire.
L&S Waste Management was established in 1997 and serves major urban areas along the South Coast, including Southampton, Portsmouth, Fareham and Chichester.
L&S’ core waste management business includes two C&D material recycling facilities in Southampton and Portsmouth with a combined annual capacity of 225,000 tonnes, a transfer station in Fareham, and a fleet of 91 collection vehicles.
The deal reinforces Biffa’s strategy to grow low carbon recycling solutions for its local authority and industrial customers across the UK, as well as increasing the amount of recycled products available to the construction industry.
Biffa also operates C&D processing facilities in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Newcastle, Birmingham and Cardiff, and is the UK’s leading supplier of waste skips.
A well-established brand along the South Coast, L&S will continue to trade as L&S Waste Management.
