Whether fine powders for baby food, granules for the pharmaceutical industry, or pellets for chemical processing, all these products require processes that deliver a high degree of precision. At Powtech Technopharm in Nuremberg, Amandus Kahl will demonstrate how fluidized bed technology and pelleting deliver precise results in practice.
The company will be exhibiting in Hall 7A, Stand 7A-520, from September 29 to October 1, 2026. The exhibits presented can be scaled to meet a wide range of requirements, from laboratory applications to large-scale production.

Process engineering solutions from Reinbek have played an established role in the food, chemical, and pharmaceutical industries for decades. In Nuremberg, Amandus Kahl will showcase this expertise with three exhibits: the LFB mini S fluidized bed plant and the flat die pellet mills 14-175 and 33-600. They represent two technologies that transform and optimize the properties of powders and other bulk materials in different ways.
Fluidized bed technology: when particle properties matter
One focus of the trade fair presentation will be fluidized bed technology. Many powders produced by conventional spray drying are fine, dusty, and have poor flow properties. These properties can be modified in a targeted manner in the fluidized bed.
Fine particles can, for example, be agglomerated into larger, stable structures that are easier to dose and dissolve and can be processed further with significantly less dust, without the need to add auxiliary substances or additives to the formulation. Coating and microencapsulation in the fluidized bed can also protect ingredients from external influences such as temperature, oxidation, and mechanical forces.
Liquids can also be processed into powders in the fluidized bed, while particle properties such as size and shape can be specifically controlled. The LFB mini S, the smallest fluidized bed plant in the Amandus Kahl portfolio, makes these processes available for laboratories, pilot applications, and smaller production volumes.
For industrial applications, plants with capacities extending into the tonnage range are also available. They can be integrated into existing production processes for both batch and continuous operation.
Pelleting: shaping under pressure
Alongside fluidized bed technology, pelleting will be the second focus of the trade fair presentation. Amandus Kahl flat die pellet mills are particularly suitable for pelleting dusty materials with low bulk density that are difficult to dose. They can also be used for temperature-sensitive additives, for example.
At Powtech Technopharm, Amandus Kahl will present two flat die pellet mills designed for different production environments. The compact pellet mill 14-175 is ideal for laboratories and applications with limited space. The powerful pellet mill 33-600 is designed for industrial applications and will be shown in action at the stand. Both pellet mills can optionally be GMP certified for applications in the pharmaceutical industry.
