Croatian hypercar manufacturer Rimac Automobili is to open a new test centre in Novo Mesto, Slovenia.

The Hyper E-Car Lab is a joint project with Slovenian hardware and software development company Lastinski inženiring, which is owned by the country’s former infrastructure minister Samo Omerzel.
The facility will test Rimac's car batteries and driving systems and offer its services to other automobile manufacturers.
“The testing of electric driving systems and batteries is a new sphere and all manufacturers are fighting for testing capacities, while we, although having certain capacities in Croatia have the need of greater capacities,” Rimac Automobili owner and CEO, Mate Rimac, tol Poslovni Dnevnik.
It was reported by Slovenian media that Rimac and Lastinski will receive €3.4-million for the project from the country's economy ministry for the project.
Earlier this month, the European Commission announced that it had given its approval under EU state aid rules to a project of common interest to support research and innovation in the common priority area of batteries. Seven member-states, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden, will provide around €3.2-billion for the project, which the Commission says will unlock a further €5-billion.
