A new joint venture between Perstorp AB and 3D4makers BV, ElogioAM, will develop new material solutions for additive manufacturing.
The companies had announced last year that they would be teaming up to develop the world’s first fifth-generation 3D filament, Facilan, a high quality, high performance filament to meet the toughest requirements for a range of medical and manufacturing products. This joint venture can be seen as the next logical step on that journey.
ElogioAM will be based in Haarlem, the Netherlands, and will aim to enable true deployment of additive manufacturing capability for medical, fashion, orthotics, advanced prototyping, modelling, demanding industry and consumer markets.

Facilan filaments have been designed to outperform their competitors. Facilan C8 3D printed parts, for example, have higher impact and tensile strength than ABS filaments while being based on compostable raw materials. Facilan C8 parts have a soft touch feel and are smoother than PLA and ABS parts. More developments are ongoing together with orthotics and insoles researchers to develop new 3D printing solutions.
Facilan PCL 100 is a pure polycaprolactone filament that is currently used by researchers in artificial muscles, drug-loaded implants, scaffolds and smart materials and aims to be the most innovative solution on the market.
