Beer brand Kingfisher and UK brewery, Freedom have come together to create a pale ale named Bombay Bicycle Indian pale ale, targeted for the Indian cuisine market.
Bombay Bicycle IPA launches will be able across the Indian restaurant sector within the UK in July 2018.
Kingfisher said that the beer consist of citrus and tropical notes and a bitterness to enhance the spice and heat of the food.

John Price, head of marketing at Kingfisher Beer Europe, said: “Consumer habits are constantly evolving and the UK’s 7,000 licencesed Indian restaurants need to offer choice and variety to meet these needs.
“Whilst the majority of consumers are still looking for a cool, crisp lager to match with their madras, there are many people now looking for a more flavourful beer to complement their korma. Kingfisher beer is available in nine out of ten Indian restaurants and we are well placed to establish a craft brand within this important trade sector.”
Kingfisher said that the reaction to Bombay Bicycle across the market been “hugely positive”. As part of the development process, the Kingfisher team enlisted several Indian chefs to help create a bespoke recipe. Celebrity chef Dipna Anand said: “I am very proud to have helped Kingfisher to develop this excellent beer and I look forward to supporting the launch plans.”
Bombay Bicycle is available at 4.2 percent ABV in 50 litre kegs and 24x330ml bottles.
