Bioservo Technologies announces the launch of Ironhand® - the world’s first soft robotic muscle strengthening system for professional users. This system has been developed and tested in collaboration with Fortune 500 companies ensuring that the features and benefits are in line with market demand.
Bioservo Technologies launches Ironhand® - the world’s first soft robotic muscle strengthening system for professional users. It merges neuroscience, mechatronics and robotics and is enhanced with unique digital features. Based on the company’s patented SEM™ (Soft Extra Muscle) technology, Ironhand® strengthens the worker’s grip and supports their lack of endurance. Human-centric support for the factory floor is the future.
To this day there are still plenty of grip intense tasks on the factory floor as well as within logistics and the construction sector that need to be handled manually. Bioservo’s soft robotic muscle strengthening system Ironhand® comprises a lightweight glove with a portable unit worn like a backpack. In addition to that, it is equipped with data capabilities which makes it possible to digitalize ergonomic risk assessment and by that helping customers to understand the risk of stress injuries in their operations. At the same time as it supports the wearer, it collects and analyzes data making it possible to include the wearer in the industry 4.0 concept as well as evaluate and identify grip intense use cases that run a high ergonomic risk. The wearer is in full control of the system which helps to create a healthy and sustainable work environment.

“We are now ready to accept orders for Ironhand®. Bioservo has been focusing on developing a cutting-edge solution to fight strain injuries and support workers on the factory floor to stay healthy and reduce the impact of their daily tasks. With its extensive data capabilities, it supports a more sustainable workplace” says Erik Landgren, CEO of Bioservo Technologies.
Bioservo has previously signed collaboration agreements with General Motors, Airbus, Eiffage Infrastructures, JM and General Electric. Plans to expand the product portfolio to the arm exist already since fall 2017.
Ironhand® is Bioservo’ s first product targeting professional users aiming to prevent strain injuries. Bioservo’ s product portfolio also includes Carbonhand®, launched in 2017 and currently available in 11 countries. Carbonhand® is a strength enhancing glove for people with an impaired hand function and succeeds Bioservo’ s successful SEM Glove™, which has been on the market since 2013.
