JBT Corporation has acquired Dutch food equipment and solutions provider FTNON for €32 million with the aim to grow within the fruit and vegetable industry.
Headquartered in Almelo, FTNON serves the fresh-cut and thermal food industry with a focus in peeling, steaming, de-coring, washing, slicing and blanching.
The company, with offices in Delft and Horst in the Netherlands, Salinas in the US and Shanghai, is a equipment supplier in fruit, vegetable and pet food processing industries.

JBT CEO Tom Giacomini said: “FTNON provides us entry into the fresh cut equipment market, tapping the rapidly expanding demand for ready-to-eat fresh produce.
“It also brings robotic technology for cutting, coring, and peeling fruits and vegetables – a valuable capability that reduces customers’ labour requirements.
“As part of JBT, we foresee opportunities to expand FTNON’s global penetration, grow its aftermarket business, and enhance profitability.”
JBT stated that the acquisition will add annual revenue of approximately $30 million to JBT’s food-technology business.
