The ELSEN Group has acquired twelve new semitrailer tractors, rejuvenating their fleet. Through regular renewals, the logistics service provider is constantly adapting its fleet to changing market requirements. The new vehicles are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and are suitable for any sector. This allows ELSEN to react flexibly to the increasingly diverse customer requirements. A test phase in the business area of temperature-controlled transports has already started very successfully.
"When choosing a vehicle, it is first and foremost important to us that you can use it regardless of the sector. In addition, we pay attention to low fuel consumption and to the technical equipment, "says André Daus, Managing Director Transport of Elsen GmbH & Co. KG. During the configuration, the enlarged cabins and the built-in air conditioning systems also specifically address the needs of the drivers. Twelve of the approximately 60 semitrailer tractors were replaced by new ones in recent months. The trucks have 13.60 semi-trailers with a maximum payload of 24 tons. In addition, they meet the current CO2 standards, are emissions-saving and equipped with driver assistance systems and an ADR system for transporting dangerous goods. The purchase of another 18 new semitrailer tractors is planned for this year.
Regular investments in the fleet allow the company, in addition to increasing energy efficiency and safety, to always tailor its range of services to the needs of its customers. These have become more and more varied lately. In response, ELSEN is increasingly opening up new business areas. The project teams develop specific industry solutions tailored to the needs of different customers. "Getting to know new industries is becoming increasingly important in order to respond to trends in the short term," emphasizes Daus. Further forward-looking topics this year include electromobility and autonomous driving. In the medium term, the importance of these technologies will also increase for fleet renewals.
