Clarke Energy
UK-based Clarke Energy, part of the Kohler Group, has announced that it is expanding its geographical reach and acquiring Romania's TEB Energy Business S.A. and its Greek subsidiary Genelco Power Systems Ltd.
The value of the deal was not disclosed but a statement from Clarke Energy said that the acquisition includes an additional 38 employees, an installed gas engine fleet in Romania and Greece and 200 MW in the field.
Clarke Energy operates in 27 countries with over 1,200 employees. In a statement the company said that it has sold and installed over 6.9 GW of power equipment worldwide, roughly equivalent to the power needs of 18 million homes.
“TEB and Genelco are a great fit to join the Clarke Energy group of companies, and we share many synergies,” said Jamie Clarke, president of Clarke Energy. “We aim to support and grow these businesses using our expertise in the gas engine sector and continue to deliver industry-leading levels of equipment performance.”
Like Clarke Energy, TEB and Genelco focus on gas engine installations and after sales support. Romania has a growing combined heat and power plant sector, and Clarke Energy said in the statement that its longstanding expertise will boost the sector.
In Greece, there has been significant growth in the biogas sector, especially in the generation of renewable energy from food waste or sewage sludge. As a member of the World Biogas Association, Clarke Energy also has significant experience in the sector and says that the Greek acquisition will further its expertise.
