To further extend its leadership position in the 3D imaging market, Chromasens is expanding the highly successful 3DPIXA camera family to present the world's first 3D stereo line colour camera with an optical resolution of 2.5 μm / pixel. This innovation enables the acquisition of extremely detailed image signals, which could previously only be achieved with complex multi-camera solutions.
With a groundbreaking new mechanical design, the Chromasens 3DPIXA Dual HR 2 μm sets a standard in the race for higher resolution and speed. Using high-speed in-line 3D measurements, the camera detects defects on complex surfaces in the micrometer range to automatically reject the workpiece before it is passed on to downstream processes.
Semiconductor error analysis, in-line height measurement, and miniature electronics inspection benefit from the camera's 16mm field of view and flexible line rates of up to 21,200 lines per second. The versatility of the camera also makes it possible to combine 3D and 2D colour inspection. This opens up completely new applications in science, medicine and industry.

The Chromasens 3DPIXA Dual HR 2 μm uses a trilinear CCD line sensor (RGB) and is characterized by a minimal noise level, high image contrast and low power consumption. Due to the unique opto-mechanical design and the special trilinear line sensor with precise internal synchronization, the camera consistently delivers excellent image quality.
Because controllable and bright illumination is critical to the accuracy of the line scan camera, Chromasens recommends using the CORONA II LED line illuminators, available in the reflected / darkfield, transmitted / brightfield, and tunnel lighting variants. The CORONA II lighting systems are characterized by their unmatched high illuminance levels of up to 3,500,000 lux.
The new 3DPIXA Dual HR 2 μm camera has the proven Camera Link interface, which is installed in all Chromasens 3DPIXA models. The rugged camera body guarantees stable mounting and is suitable for controllable industrial environments, such as those found in semiconductor production, the assembly of electronic components or similar industries.
To aid set-up and operation, the 3DPIXA Dual HR 2μm camera includes free 3D software - the Chromasens 3D Viewer and the CS-3D API, which provide elevation maps and 3D point clouds for quick part visualization with the viewer.
