The Baden-Württemberg hygiene expert Meiko and the Swiss company Biotrans are setting up the new company "Meiko Green Waste Solutions" together. It has always been a concern of both companies to consider the accumulation of food waste and kitchen waste as a valuable raw material and to return it to the energy cycle through special technical facilities for collecting and recycling. By founding the company'Meiko Green Waste Solutions' in the future, we will work together to pool forces and offer sustainable and hygienic solutions. One focus will be the consultation and implementation in terms of process optimization.
Where meals are prepared, kitchen waste, such as vegetable and fruit bowls, accumulates. Not to forget the leftovers, which remain on the plates of the guests and must be disposed of. But what happens to the leftovers left over from restaurants, canteens, canteens, canteens and food manufacturers? What is considered by many to be mere waste was recognized by Meiko as a valuable resource twenty years ago.
True to the company's philosophy of making the world cleaner, it was hoped that the unavoidable and apparently worthless leftovers would be processed using intelligent technology. The aim was to improve the hygiene in kitchens, to minimize their costs and to return the valuable raw material to the energy cycle.

The Swiss company Biotrans has followed the same vision since its founding in 2006 with its Managing Director Patrick Hoffmann. With a pioneering spirit, the highest standards of their own technology and a sustainable company philosophy created excellent products and services. The common concern and the shared awareness of quality and value led to discussions, the result of which is the new company 'Marco Green Waste Solutions'. As "brothers in spirit", it was natural to join forces and exploit synergies, because each alone was too small for the challenges of the future. The years of experience and know-how about international hygiene standards - for example on board cruise ships - are enough to make this possible.
"We have found the green solution," says Patrick Hoffmann, Managing Director of 'Marco Green Waste Solutions' and adds: "We want to be particularly sustainable in dealing with the needs of our customers. Increased environmental awareness and the desire to find an ethical and sustainable solution to waste management require entirely new strategies. Similarly, process optimization and, of course, the improvement of hygiene are key issues that we want to solve perfectly in the interests of our customers. "
The commitment to sustainability is a special drive of the partners. "As a value-driven company, we do not pay attention to mere figures, but also to the philosophy behind them," emphasizes Meiko CEO Dr.-Ing. Stefan Scheringer continues: "Leftovers are an important but also problematic topic, and we can help solve this problem with our innovative technology and, in addition, contribute to a meaningful further exploitation, namely the production of energy a more valuable source of energy for every day use of waste, which is generated every day. "We think in terms of generations and not in quarters".
Hannes Braun, most recently Managing Director of Biotrans Deutschland GmbH, will continue to manage sales in the German market in the future: "Recent years have shown that the German market in particular has very individual customer needs. One is how to deal with the issue of unavoidable organic waste in a simple, clean and hygienic way. On the other hand, how to develop projects with the customer benefit in the foreground right from the beginning with the specialist planners in the field of kitchen technology and building technology. The whole spectrum ranges from small professional kitchens, for example from 200 meals, to very large production plants that produce several thousand meals per day. I am particularly pleased in the new constellation and with the entire range of different solutions,
