Shalag to acquire Italian nonwoven company Texsus

by

Israel-based Shalag Industries is to acquire a 100% of Texsus S.P.A, manufacturer of air-through bonded nonwovens and laminated products primarily for the hygiene market.

The acquisition, due to officially take place within the next few weeks, will increase Shalag Group's global presence as a producer of air-through bonded nonwovens. The new Italian site will be the company's third along with its facilities in North Carolina and Israel. Its annual production capacity will be close to 60,000 tonnes.

"We appreciate Texsus' reputation in the market and believe that the high synergy between the companies will allow Shalag Group to provide its customers over the world with the best global services as well as increased company innovation and technological capabilities," said Shalag CEO Ilan Pickman.

Texsus will be operated as a subsidiary of Shalag Industries Ltd and will continue to be managed by Federico Micheloti and with Barbara Bulleri heading Marketing.
