Benvic continues expansion with acquisition of Ereplast

by

French plastics compounder Benvic Europe is set to acquire Ereplast, a French specialist in industrial plastic waste recycling, and enter the recycling compounding sector.

Details of the transaction were not disclosed, but a statement from Benvic said that it was aiming to “lead the development of the European PVC recycling compounding industry.”

Ereplast was founded in 2004 in Porcieu-Amblagnieu, in southeastern France and has an annual turnover of €1.4-million. 95% of the revenue comes from its activities in PVC recycling.

Benvic released a statement saying that the acquisition of Ereplast marked an important milestone for the company as it continues the implementation of its growth strategy following the acquisition of a major compounding manufacturer in Poland, Alfa PVC.

The company has also commissioned a new compounding line for biopolymers and thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) at its facility in Ferrarta, Italy earlier this year, as well as acquiring a specialist in PVC compounds for medical applications, Mondenplast Medical, in Modena, Italy.

“We are delighted to incorporate Ereplast, with whom we have already been working for several years,” said Luc Mertens, chairman and CEO of Benvic.

Mertens said that Benvic will now include a range of recycled products in its offering, thereby strengthening its position as a strategic partner for sustainable plastic solutions.

The acquisition is still subject to approval, but it is anticipated to close at the end of September.

Based in Chevigny Saint Sauveur, France, Benvic was established in 1963. It has an annual turnover of almost €225-million and supplies materials to a wide range of industry sectors including packaging, automotive, construction and healthcare and medicine.
