Xing & EST-Floattech partner for electrification in construction

by

Taiwanese battery tech company Xing Mobility has signed a dealer distribution agreement with Norway’s EST-Floattech to cooperate on providing electric vehicle (EV) battery and advanced powertrain solutions to construction and industrial equipment markets in Europe.

Xing was founded in 2015 by former Tesla and NASA engineer Azizi Tucker. In 2017, the company released its immersion-cooled battery system, thus demonstrating its concept that lithium-ion cells submerged in engineered fluid can enable continuous high-discharge power output, increase stability and improve battery life.

EST-Floattech is a developer and distributor of integrated electric and hybrid systems with offices in Norway and the Netherlands, and strong representation in Germany. The company has earned status in the industry as a highly reliable supplier of safe energy storage systems and has become a major force in electric and hybrid systems for vessels and marine equipment throughout Europe.

The partnership combines Xing Mobility’s experience in EV battery technology with EST-Floattech’s highly regarded reputation in energy storage and system integration with equipment manufacture industries. As part of the agreement, Xing will supply battery packs for EST-Floatech to promote, distribute and service to its partners and customers.

Upon signing the contract, Xing Mobility CEO Royce Hong said: “We believe Europe to be the most advanced and sophisticated market for the electrification of land-based industrial equipment due to increasingly demanding emissions regulations in the region amongst other drivers."

"We are confident that our battery innovations, combined with EST-Floattech’s experience and impressive credentials, will help to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicle technology in the construction, mining and material handling equipment industries," he added.

EST-Floattech CEO Trond Skaufel said: “The alliance with XING Mobility’s impressive and solid solution culture will move EST’s heavy-duty construction customers to the next level within performance and safety. The modular, immersion cooling and fire suppression product of XING Mobility will definitively accelerate our position as a solution provider and service support in Europe.”
