ABB is pleased to announce that it has been working as a member of the Polish Section for Electrical Equipment Manufacturers (SPAE) to prevent the distribution of electrical appliances and equipment that do not meet the requirements, standards and technical standards.
The MSSI ELECTRICAL (Market Surveillance Support Initiative) was launched at European level. In Poland it has been implemented by the Polish Chamber of Commerce for Electronics and Telecommunications, bringing together leading European manufacturers of electrical infrastructure products and systems and low voltage installations .
We combine safety, including ABB, DEHN, ETI, Eaton Electric, Hager, Legrand, Schneider Electric and Siemens - to assist local authorities in monitoring the electrical products and systems market. These companies take appropriate action by informing the relevant market surveillance authorities about products that are suspected of failing to meet standards and requirements.

The initiative, launched at European level in 2012, has already been successfully implemented in France, Germany, Great Britain and Spain, and in Italy.
Business Development Manager of Schneider Electric Poland and Chair of SPAE Section Wojciech Świątek explains: "This year the initiative is broader. Its implementation is initiated in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, the Benelux countries and the Scandinavian countries. In Poland we encounter the same problems as in other European countries, so we decided to cooperate and implement this project in our own country. "
As part of the SPAE initiative, collaborating with the independent accredited laboratory of the Quality Assurance Agency (BBJ), she commissioned two product studies. Both studies cover 23 samples of breakers of various manufacturers present on the Polish market, including SPAE members. However, it should be emphasized that only critical factor tests were performed.
The purpose of the test was to check the products for their compliance with the technical parameters provided by the manufacturers. The results showed that for the tested parameters more than 40% Circuit breakers do not meet the requirements of EN 60898-1. In the second study of the circuit breakers, in comparison with the requirements of EN 61008-1 2013, nonconformance was detected in nearly 57%. cases.
Germany supplies electrical products with the procedures for assigning the VDE quality symbol. The high standard of electrical infrastructure is mainly taken care of by normalizing authorities and professional participants of this market, ie installers, distributors and of course manufacturers, "says Magdalena Malewska, Marketing and Sales Director of ABB Electrification Products and Systems in Poland. - We are willing to support the local electric market and introduce similar procedures in Poland. We distinguish companies for which not only price, but also professionalism, security, innovation and quality standards.
Eaton Electric's Chief Investment Officer Marek Tabaka adds: "The European Union essentially determines electrical product standards. Unfortunately, many non-standard electrical appliances are available in Europe. In many cases, such products are commonly used, also by people without qualifications. In this way, the user unconsciously runs the risk of losing health and property. That is why we have taken the initiative to protect the market against such products. "
