Built on an 11 hectare area outside of Gothenburg, Solcellsparken will be Sweden's largest solar park of 5.5 MW, which will supply electricity to approximately 1,000 villas over a year.
"With our commitment, we increase the production of renewable electricity and take another step towards a renewable energy system. We have a good working relationship and good relations with ABB, and it is therefore good to have them on the trip," said Alf Engqvist, CEO of Göteborg Energi.
ABB is providing a complete power plant with switch gear, distribution transformers and relay protection, alongside control equipment and inverters. Revolutionary solar power application solutions connected to the digital ABB AbilityTM platform provide smart monitoring, troubleshooting and control.

"It is amazingly fun to participate in Sweden's largest solar power initiative, together with Göteborg Energi. The transition to renewable energy in the grid is ongoing and sustainable power supply is crucial for the future. Advanced technology and digital solutions will play an important role in the energy change" , commented Johan Söderström, CEO of ABB Sweden.
The start of the solar cell park was celebrated on September 11 2018, when the first solar panel was symbolically installed in place. Solcellsparken is set for completion by November 2018.
